Quick answers
The essentials
Reused across the site — the five questions merchants ask first.
What is GEOptimisation?
GEOptimisation is a Shopify-first platform that audits how well search engines and AI systems can understand your store. It checks product content, structured data, schema and crawlability, then surfaces clear, prioritised recommendations for you to review and apply.
How is GEO different from traditional SEO?
Traditional SEO focuses on ranking in search engines like Google. GEO (Generative Engine Optimisation) extends that focus to how AI platforms such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and Perplexity read, interpret and recommend your products when answering shopper questions.
Will GEOptimisation guarantee my products rank higher or get recommended by AI?
No platform can guarantee rankings or AI recommendations, and we won't claim otherwise. What GEOptimisation does is remove the structural and content barriers that stop search engines and AI systems from understanding your store properly in the first place.
Does GEOptimisation make changes to my store automatically?
No. GEOptimisation surfaces issues and recommendations for you to review first. Nothing is published or altered on your storefront without your approval.
Which platforms does GEOptimisation help my store appear in?
GEOptimisation audits your store's visibility signals for Google Search, and for AI discovery platforms including ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and Perplexity. The same underlying content and structured data issues tend to affect visibility across all of them.

Getting started
The basics
What is GEOptimisation?
A Shopify-first platform that audits product content, structured data, schema and crawlability, then surfaces prioritised recommendations for you to review and apply.
How is GEO different from traditional SEO?
SEO focuses on ranking in search engines. GEO extends that to how AI platforms like ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and Perplexity read and recommend your products.
Does GEOptimisation replace my SEO agency or marketing team?
No. GEOptimisation handles the technical and structural side of visibility across a full catalogue, and is designed to sit alongside an agency or in-house team, not replace their strategic and creative work.
Is my store data secure?
GEOptimisation only reads the store data required to perform an audit, within Shopify's standard app permissions model. No changes are made without your review and approval.
GEO & AI search
AI visibility
Can I appear in ChatGPT or Perplexity answers?
We improve the structured data and clarity AI systems rely on when deciding whether and how to reference a product. We can't guarantee inclusion in any specific AI-generated answer, since that's determined by the platform itself.
Why do AI systems need more than shoppers do?
A human can infer meaning from layout and context. AI systems rely far more heavily on explicit, structured signals, so a page that reads clearly to a customer can still be ambiguous to an AI system parsing it.
What is a GEO Health Score?
A single score out of 100 summarising how well your store's content and structured data support search and AI visibility, broken down by contributing factors.
Structured data
Schema & markup
What is schema markup and why does it matter?
Structured data added to your pages that explains what things are — a product, its price, availability, reviews — in a format machines can read directly, instead of leaving them to guess.
What exactly does a GEOptimisation audit check?
Product content, schema and structured data, metadata, internal linking and crawlability, flagging missing or incomplete signals that make your store harder to interpret correctly.
What kind of product content issues does GEOptimisation flag?
Thin or duplicated descriptions, missing attributes, inconsistent naming, absent or incorrect schema, and metadata that doesn't reflect what the product actually is.
Shopify & audits
How audits work
Does this work for stores with thousands of products?
Yes. Issues are grouped by pattern and severity so large catalogues can be reviewed efficiently instead of checking every listing manually.
How does GEOptimisation work with Shopify?
It connects directly to your Shopify store and reads your existing product, collection and page data — built around how Shopify structures content, not a generic crawler adapted for ecommerce.
How does it handle audits across large catalogues?
Issues are scanned systematically and grouped by type and severity, so patterns across hundreds or thousands of products can be addressed together.
How often should I run an audit?
Most merchants run one after major catalogue changes — new ranges, collection restructures, platform migrations — and otherwise on a monthly or quarterly cycle.
Merchant control
Review & approval
What does "merchant-controlled" mean in practice?
GEOptimisation never publishes changes to your live store without your explicit approval — you stay in charge of what gets changed, when, and whether it's right for your brand.
How are recommendations delivered?
In your dashboard, organised by priority and category, with a before-and-after view where relevant, so you can apply, ignore, or revisit each one individually.
Do I need technical or developer knowledge to use it?
No. Audits are presented in plain language, and where a fix needs code-level changes, GEOptimisation shows you exactly what needs to change without requiring you to write it.
