GEOptimisation provides AI-search readiness audits and optimisation workflows for Shopify stores. This Privacy Policy explains how GEOptimisation collects, uses, stores and protects information when merchants install and use the GEOptimisation Shopify app.

By installing or using GEOptimisation, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

When a merchant installs or uses GEOptimisation, we may collect and process information required to operate the app, including:

• Shopify store domain.
• Shopify session and authentication information required to connect the app to the merchant’s store.
• Product catalogue information, including product titles, handles, descriptions, vendors, product types, product status, SEO titles and SEO descriptions.
• Collection information, including collection titles, handles and SEO fields.
• Storefront page information where available, including page content, visible headings, metadata, schema signals and crawlability indicators.
• Audit results, recommendation records, score history, change logs and optimisation workflow status.
• Technical logs needed to monitor, debug, secure and improve the app.

GEOptimisation does not intentionally collect customer payment card information.

We use the information collected through GEOptimisation to:

• Authenticate the Shopify store and operate the embedded app.
• Run quick, collection and full-store AI-search readiness audits.
• Assess product content quality, structured data coverage, crawlability and AI-search readiness indicators.
• Generate prioritised recommendations for merchants to review.
• Allow merchants to approve, stage, apply or reset selected optimisation actions.
• Maintain audit history, recommendation history and workflow records.
• Provide support, troubleshooting and service improvements.
• Monitor app performance and security.
• Comply with Shopify platform requirements and applicable legal obligations.

GEOptimisation requests Shopify permissions needed to provide its core functionality.

These permissions may include access to product data and the ability to update selected product content where the merchant has explicitly approved and confirmed an action.

GEOptimisation does not automatically apply product updates without merchant approval.

GEOptimisation uses Shopify store and product data to generate audits and recommendations. This may include identifying missing or thin product descriptions, missing product data, incomplete search listing fields, missing structured data opportunities and storefront access limitations.

Audit outputs and recommendations are intended to help merchants improve store clarity, product content quality and AI-search readiness. GEOptimisation does not guarantee search rankings, AI visibility, traffic, sales or inclusion in AI-generated answers.

GEOptimisation stores app data in secure hosted infrastructure.

Stored data may include:

• Store identifiers.
• Shopify session records.
• Audit results.
• Recommendation records.
• Change logs.
• Workflow status.
• Technical logs required for support and debugging.

We take reasonable steps to protect stored data against unauthorised access, misuse, alteration or disclosure.

We do not sell merchant data.

We may share limited information with trusted service providers where required to operate GEOptimisation, including providers for hosting, database storage, infrastructure, logging, monitoring or technical support.

These providers are used only to support the operation, maintenance and security of GEOptimisation.

We retain merchant data for as long as needed to provide the app service, maintain audit history, support merchant workflows, comply with Shopify requirements and meet legal obligations.

If a merchant uninstalls GEOptimisation or requests deletion, we will delete or anonymise applicable store data in line with Shopify’s mandatory privacy and compliance webhook requirements, unless retention is required by law.

GEOptimisation supports Shopify’s mandatory privacy and compliance webhooks, including:

• Customer data requests.
• Customer redaction requests.
• Shop redaction requests.

These webhooks are used to process access and deletion requests required by Shopify and applicable privacy laws.

We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards to protect information processed by GEOptimisation.

However, no internet-based service, hosting provider or database system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Merchants use the app with the understanding that all online services carry some level of risk.

Merchants remain responsible for their Shopify store, product content, SEO strategy, data compliance and commercial decisions.

GEOptimisation provides audits, recommendations and workflow tools. Merchants are responsible for reviewing recommendations before applying any changes.

GEOptimisation may process or store data in countries where our infrastructure providers or service providers operate.

By using GEOptimisation, merchants acknowledge that data may be processed outside their country or region of residence.

GEOptimisation is designed for Shopify merchants and business users. It is not intended for use by children.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date.

Continued use of GEOptimisation after changes are posted means you accept the updated Privacy Policy.
